Burn (Pure 3) by Julianna Baggott - Review by Fallon

4 out of 5 stars

Author Description:

Inside the Dome, Patridge has taken his father's place as leader of the Pures. His struggle has led him here, intent upon bringing down the Dome from the inside, with the help of a secret resistance force. But things are not as simple from his new position of power and he finds himself tempted by his father's words: perhaps if the world is to survive it needs the Dome - and Partridge - to rule it...

As Partridge's resolve weakens, Pressia and Bradwell continue piecing together the clues left to them from the time before the Detonations. It is their hope that they will be able to heal the Wretches, and free them from their monstrous fusings and the Dome's oppression once and for all. But everything depends, too, on Partridge. Separated by distance and history, can they still trust their friend and ally? Or is the world doomed to an eternity of war and hardship?

Fallon's Review:

Partridge a pure was an interesting character in this final book. He hates his Father but seems to be falling right into his foot steps. He loves Lyda and she is pregnant with there child, but that love might not be enough. He also has Iralene who he is engaged too. This is a love triangle at it's finest.

Pressia is a Wretch and is Partridge half-sister. Pressia is so strong and feminine at the same time. Struggling in a world brought to the extreme. Pressia is in Love with Bradwell and Bradwell loves Pressia but is having a hard time forgiving her and accepting himself. El Captain is in love with Pressia and just wants her to be happy. This was another love triangle.

This world that Julianna Baggott created was so diverse and fabulous. From a seemingly perfect society inside a Dome full of Politics. To a destroyed mutated world outside the Dome. There were moments I was reading this that were so intense I couldn't go to sleep. There were endearing moments as well. El Captains unconditional love, in spite of the fact that the love is not returned.

This had one of my favorite endings in a book. I thought it was raw and real. The Wretches and Pures come to a head in the end of this book. You have to read this. You will not predict how it all will end I promise you that. I am giving this book 4 out of 5 stars.
