Fallon's Review:

I loved every twist and turn of this book and just loved going alone for the ride of this twisted world Evie lives in. I love that Evie is so strong but people want her to think she is dumb and fit into the mold the make for her. Evie is anything but dumb and is not a sheep someone can herd . My favorite seen and while after you read it you will know what I am talking about I dont feel it is a spoiler. I love when someone is singing a song and Gavin ask Evie what he is saying and Evie says he is signing a children's song. Gavin freaks saying basically what kind of song is that? I am not quoting it i don't want to ruin it. It made me laugh and was my favorite scene.

Gavin is so endearing. He finds this creepy underground world and finds himself on a rollercoaster so o speak. He is intrigued by Evie and wants to get to know the real her. Now I loved this book so much and After I read it and read J.A. Souders Author description of herself in the back of the book I was in my car listening to the radio and Eminem and Rihanna song Monster and that sums up this book for me. There is manipulation at it's finest and Mother didn't know when enough was enough. Mother is the perfect villian you love to hate her. I am giving this book 5 out of 5 stars. A must read!

Author Description:

Six weeks after her arrival on the Surface, Evelyn Winters is no closer to unlocking the memories lost in her subconscious than she was when she first came. Isolated in a strange new society, Evie has only Gavin Hunter to remind her of who she once was.

But even with a clean slate, it’s easy to see that Evie doesn’t fit in on the Surface. And as her differences make her feel more and more alone, she can’t help but yearn for that place she doesn’t remember: the isolated city hidden in the depths of the ocean. Elysium. Home.

But she can’t exactly tell Gavin what she’s feeling. Not when he’s the one who helped her escape Elysium in the first place, and has the scars to prove it. Though the doctors say otherwise, Gavin believes that Evie just needs time. And if her memories don’t come back, well, maybe she’s better off not remembering her past.

But the decision may be out of their hands when Evie’s ever-elusive memories begin to collide with reality. People and images from her past appear in the most unlikely places, haunting her, provoking her…and making her seem not only strange but dangerous.

Evie and Gavin can’t wait around for her memories to return. They’ll have to journey across the Outlands of the Surface to find help, and in the end, their search may just lead them back to the place it all started…

Fallon's Review:

This book was slow at first and i felt like it was a recap of the first book. Now with that being said keep reading cause what made the first book so great she brings to the table in this book. I loved the new creatures they face. It becomes a new venture into the unknown especially for Evie. I enjoyed the new character Hunter who was brought into the fold. Evie is so confused and has momentary flash backs and just wants to go home cause everything seems and feels so foreign. Gavin just wants to make Evie apart of his world and comfortable. Gavin loves her and is so supportive. Hunter used to be Gavin's best friend but Gavin feels he can not trust Hunter.

There is so much that happens in the second half of this book and yes Mother is back but I dont want to ruin it for anyone who has not picked this up. There is a huge cliffhanger ending and you will be left wanting more. I gave this 4 out of 5 stars and can't wait for book 3!
