The Truth About Alice by Jennifer Mathieu ~ Review by Fallon

4 Out of 5 Stars

Author Description:

Everyone has a lot to say about Alice Franklin, and it’s stopped mattering whether it’s true. The rumors started at a party when Alice supposedly had sex with two guys in one night. When school starts everyone almost forgets about Alice until one of those guys, super-popular Brandon, dies in a car wreck that was allegedly all Alice’s fault. Now the only friend she has is a boy who may be the only other person who knows the truth, but is too afraid to admit it. Told from the perspectives of popular girl Elaine, football star Josh, former outcast Kelsie, and shy genius Kurt, we see how everyone has a motive to bring – and keep – Alice down.

Fallon's Review:

I received this ARC from Fan Fic Giveaway! When I started reading this story it definitely had it's shock value to it. It was like mean girls times 100. However I thought it ended up reminding me of books like The Perks of Being a Wallflower. It was just reminded me of the things kids do and the self discovery along the way.

Alice went to a party and is accused of sleeping with two guys in one night. The problem is one of the guys dies in a car accident not to long after. People are pointing the finger at Alice. This story takes rumors to a whole new level.

Josh is Brandon's best-friend, who now is dead. Josh was at the party and witnessed Alice heading up stairs with Brandon. Elaine dated Brandon off and on again. Elaine is the most popular girl in school but still had jealous tendencies towards Alice. Kelsie is Alice's best-friend who has anxiety on not being popular. Kurt has been in love with Alice from afar for so long.

This story takes Josh, Elaine, Kelsie, Kurt and then Alice and combines their POV's and the events that unfold. I enjoyed this story and thought as emotions and background stories became clearer the story just got better and better. I am giving this book 4 Out of 5 Stars.
