Hover (The Taking #2) by Melissa West ~ Review by Fallon

5 Out of 5 Stars

Author Description:

On Earth, seventeen-year-old Ari Alexander was taught to never peek, but if she hopes to survive life on her new planet, Loge, her eyes must never shut. Because Zeus will do anything to save the Ancients from their dying planet, and he has a plan.

Thousands of humans crossed over to Loge after a poisonous neurotoxin released into Earth's atmosphere, nearly killing them. They sought refuge in hopes of finding a new life, but what they became were slaves, built to wage war against their home planet. That is, unless Ari and Jackson can stop them. But on Loge, nothing is as it seems...and no one can be trusted.

Fallon's Review:

Ari finds herself in foreign territory on Loge. She is unsure who to trust. Jackson betrayed her and she has now built up walls he may never tear down. She knew Jackson as the boy from the poor wrong side of the tracks back on earth. Here on Loge Jackson is a leader and a strong man. Ari can respect the man he is and she is drawn to this side of him. She just is not sure how to trust him. He is the grandson of the man Zeus leader of their planet. That was a big secret to keep from her.

Jackson loves Ari and is willing to give her the space she needs. He is determined to make her strong enough to endure the battle they will soon be up against. Their are reasons Jackson keeps himself so guarded and never lets anyone in. He protects all the people around him. Those he loves are the ones who can be used against him.

Melissa West did such an incredible job with building this alien planet. The details were so vivid. I love how Ari is strong and does not need anyone including a man. She may have feelings but she is smart and does not let her emotions control her. Zeus is a person you love to hate and you want to explore his evil mind. This is a world you will be thrown into and not want to leave. I was enthralled all the way to the end and then was like OMG I need Collide NOW!!! I am giving this book 5 out of 5 Stars. This is a must read series.
