Goodreads description:
A thrilling, seductive new series from New York Timesbestselling author Sarah J. Maas, blending Beauty and the Beast with faerie lore.

When nineteen-year-old huntress Feyre kills a wolf in the woods, a beast-like creature arrives to demand retribution for it. Dragged to a treacherous magical land she only knows about from legends, Feyre discovers that her captor is not an animal, but Tamlin—one of the lethal, immortal faeries who once ruled their world.

As she dwells on his estate, her feelings for Tamlin transform from icy hostility into a fiery passion that burns through every lie and warning she's been told about the beautiful, dangerous world of the Fae. But an ancient, wicked shadow grows over the faerie lands, and Feyre must find a way to stop it . . . or doom Tamlin—and his world—forever.

Perfect for fans of Kristin Cashore and George R. R. Martin, this first book in a sexy and action-packed new series is impossible to put down!

Fallon's Review:
Feyre and her family are starving and the only way to feed them is for her to hunt to put food on the table. Hunting close to the line separating the mortals from the fey, Feyre spots a deer and has her sites set on it till a large wolf also decides to kill the deer. Not sure if the wolf is a fey she uses her only ash arrow and shoots to kill. The wolf is taken down as well as the deer. Not able to carry both she cuts the wolfs pelt to sell later.

Feyre sisters have never had to work always relying on her to do the hard labor. Her mother is dead and her dad was wounded. They are close to starving and Feyre finds the strength to take care of them. Her sisters are spoiled brats.
This was an intense gripping start to a series. I love that we get to see Feyre need behind the actions that lead to something larger then she could have saw coming. I am dying to read more and see the journey this series takes me on. I am giving this sampler 5 out of 5 stars and I need more!!!
