Giveaway ~ Fairy Tale by Cyn Balog ~ Review by Fallon

4 Out of 5 Stars

Author Description:

A captivating and witty dark fantasy that will have girls lusting after it.
Morgan Sparks has always known that she and her boyfriend, Cam, are made for each other. But when Cam’s cousin Pip comes to stay with the family, Cam seems depressed. Finally Cam confesses to Morgan what’s going on: Cam is a fairy. The night he was born, fairies came down and switched him with a healthy human boy. Nobody expected Cam to live, and nobody expected his biological brother, heir to the fairy throne, to die. But both things happened, and now the fairies want Cam back to take his rightful place as Fairy King.

Even as Cam physically changes, becoming more miserable each day, he and Morgan pledge to fool the fairies and stay together forever. But by the time Cam has to decide once and for all what to do, Morgan’s no longer sure what’s best for everyone, or whether her and Cam’s love can weather an uncertain future.

Fallon's Review:

Morgan is not the prettiest girl at school but she has the hottest boyfriend in the package of Cam the star football player and all around great guy. They have been best friends since they were little. Cam adores Morgan. They were even born on the same day. Morgan has this big Cam and Morgan sweet sixteen party planned. Wanting everything to be perfect. Until her boy friend has unexpected visitors and starts to change.

This book was little slow at first and I was wondering how this would tie in Fairies but when it picked up it really picked up. Fairy Tale reminded me of My sweet sixteen parties on MTV meets Fairy story. By the end of this story I was in tears. I did not think I would feel that much about this story but by the end I felt so torn and heartbroken. I love Cam and I love Pip. I felt so in the moment. I am gving this book 4 out of 5 stars.

Fairy Month Teaser Tuesday ~ Ensnared by A.G. Howard

"On impact, the breath is knocked from my lungs. I slide into the cushioned surface, like a straight pin burrowing through a sawdust filling, but the force bends the moss and foliage around me, causing them to give. The top of my head bursts out and slams into the slippery trunk. A sharp pain slices through my skull and spine. Heavy, hot blackness oozes into my vision, and my body falls limp, wedged within a mossy grave."  ~ Ensnared Teaser

Giveaway Bones of Faerie (Bones of Faerie #1) by Janni Lee Simner

4 Out of 5 Stars

Author Description:

The war between humanity and Faerie devastated both sides. Or so 15-year-old Liza has been told. Nothing has been seen or heard from Faerie since, and Liza's world bears the scars of its encounter with magic. Trees move with sinister intention, and the town Liza calls home is surrounded by a forest that threatens to harm all those who wander into it. Then Liza discovers she has the Faerie ability to see into the past, into the future, and she has no choice but to flee her town. Liza's quest will take her into Faerie and back again, and what she finds along the way may be the key to healing both worlds.

Janni Lee Simner's first novel for young adults is a dark fairy-tale twist on apocalyptic fiction as familiar as a nightmare, yet altogether unique.

Fallon's Review:

Author Janni Lee Simner made this book very unique and special. I love apocalyptic books and fantasy and this combined both. Bones of Faerie is very dark and the world as we know it is destroyed. Liza lives in a town where magic is forbidden and anyone showing signs of magic are killed. A Faerie war in the past destroyed the world as we know it and Liza's father says magic kills.

Liza starts to have symptoms of magic and after her father beats her. She sets leaves her town behind. She does not journey far alone. Matthew who is a skin walker joins her. In this adventure the very trees that surround you can kill you. Liza and Matthew find that out and are rescued by a town of strangers.

Bones of Faerie had so many great aspects. The fantasy element with Skin Walkers, Healing Powers, Powers to command through pulling or pushing, and the power to control plants. I am huge fan of apocalyptic books and I loved the scenes where Liza is going through the destroyed war zone and having visions of the past. The only thing I did not care for was the direction the story had with Liza's little sister Rebecca. I am giving this book 4 out of 5 stars a great read.

Broken Promise (Between Worlds #2) by Julia Crane & Talia Jager

5 Out of 5 Stars

Author Description:

Over a year has passed since Rylie returned to her 'human' life. She now knows the truth about her past – and the destiny she can’t yet accept. Rylie struggles to choose between two different worlds, each with a boy she loves. News that her father is alive complicates her life even more. Among the broken hearts and promises, a chance for a new beginning will emerge.

Fallon's Review:

I so needed some more Kallan so I dived straight in to Broken Promise and Julia Crane and Talia Jager did not disappoint. Rylie is still having a hard time dealing with the fact that her parents are not who she thought they were her entire life. Then to make matters more complicated Rylie keeps seeing Teal in her vision and knows Kallan is near. Why would he be in the human world?

Back to school and the new guy is getting all the girls attention. Guess who Kallan decides to enroll in an attempt to win Rylie over. Now Rylie is torn obviously drawn and very attracted to Kallan but dating long time boyfriend and best friend Adam.

Julia and Talia have this journey come to a head in the end of this 2nd book. Rylie will have to choose. Journeys and heartache are inevitable and Rylie will feel them full force. I can not wait to check out book 3 due to be released sometime this fall. I am giving this book 5 out of 5 stars and will be buying this book in Paperback as well to keep on my bookshelf.

Giveaway and Review Copperhead (Ironskin #2) by Tina Connolly

3 Out of 5 Stars

Author Description:

The sequel to Tina Connolly's stunning historical fantasy debut.

Helen Huntingdon is beautiful—so beautiful she has to wear an iron mask. Six months ago her sister Jane uncovered a fey plot to take over the city. Too late for Helen, who opted for fey beauty in her face—and now has to cover her face with iron so she won’t be taken over, her personality erased by the bodiless fey.

Not that Helen would mind that some days. Stuck in a marriage with the wealthy and controlling Alistair, she lives at the edges of her life, secretly helping Jane remove the dangerous fey beauty from the wealthy society women who paid for it. But when the chancy procedure turns deadly, Jane goes missing—and is implicated in the murder.

Meanwhile, Alistair’s influential clique Copperhead—whose emblem is the poisonous copperhead hydra—is out to restore humans to their “rightful” place, even to the point of destroying the dwarvven who have always been allies.

Helen is determined to find her missing sister, as well as continue the good fight against the fey. But when that pits her against her own husband—and when she meets an enigmatic young revolutionary—she’s pushed to discover how far she’ll bend society’s rules to do what’s right. It may be more than her beauty at stake. It may be her honor...and her heart.

Fallon's Review:

Copperhead book 2 in the Ironskin series. This book was intruiging and I loved Ironskin. I wanted to continue reading Jane's story. I have to say though Helen was my least favorite character in Ironskin. Helen has always been beautiful and a little superficial. I did like the strong feminist theme of this book. Women working together through men who try to control or dominate them.

Copperhead starts off with Helen walking through the city with her husband Alistair and the Fey are all over the city. In every spot that is not covered in iron. Jane needs Helen's help to get the 100 on board for the procedure.

I think the thing I liked about Jane's character was how down to earth and understated she was. I also loved watching her evolve. I did not feel I got this depth from Helen which made the story drag a littl more. Tina Connolly's writing is so incredible and the way she mixes fantasy, steampunk and a little bit of Historical feel blends in such a unique way. I am giving this book 3 out of 5 stars just because I do not love Helen but I am so excited to continue the story with Dorie in Silverblind.

Giveaway Dark Promise (Between Worlds #1) by Julia Crane, & Talia Jager ~ Review by Fallon

5 Out of 5 Stars

Author Description:

Rylie has it all - great friends, dream boy, loving family. But on the eve of her sixteenth birthday, her perfect little world shatters. A stranger claiming to be her real mother appears with a secret: Rylie is a faery whose powers will be unleashed on her birthday. Captured and forced into a new life, Rylie struggles to keep everything she loves and discovers a terrifying truth: some promises cannot be broken.

Fallon's Review:

Rylie has always felt like someone is watching her. Little hairs would rise and when she looked no one was there. She starts to get a headache that will not go away and then a back ache. Then she starts to notice changes in the mirror. Rylie thinks she is being paranoid. Until a woman claiming to be her real mother knocks on her door. She informs Rylie the changes she is having is her transformation into Fairy.

Rylie finds out the birth mark she has always hated on her face marks her as a unique powerful fairy. Her birth mother told her why she hide her and warns Rylie's family of the dark Fairies that will seek her out. When Rylie transforms she is in denial she wants everything to stay the same. Her loving boyfriend and her perfect family. Until she is captured by the enemy.

I love Dark Promise. It has self discovery, love, adventure, and best of all a beautiful fantasy element that will take you in and not let go. Kallan is my new book boyfriend and I so heart him. I can not wait for bok 2. Dark Promise is a must read. Julia Crane and Talia Jager co-wrote this together it seemed effortlessly. I never noticed the change in writing. There was no rotating POVs so that impressed me. I gave this book 5 out of 5 stars and I will now be buying a PB copy to keep on my bookshelf.

Giveaway Wings (Wings #1) by Aprilynne Pike ~ Review by Fallon

4 Out of 5 Stars

Author Description:

Laurel was mesmerized, staring at the pale things with wide eyes. They were terrifyingly beautiful—too beautiful for words.

Laurel turned to the mirror again, her eyes on the hovering petals that floated beside her head. They looked almost like wings.

In this extraordinary tale of magic and intrigue, romance and danger, everything you thought you knew about faeries will be changed forever.

Fallon's Review:

Wings was an adorable story that felt organic. Laurel is this girl who has to learn to adjust to being around school kids after a life of homeschooling. She soon befriends a boy named David and they become the best of friends. David starts to want more but Laurel is not confident on making that commitment even if she wants to.

When weird things start to happen to Laurel, David is the only person she can trust and confide in. Their relationship is strong and adorable and she has every right to trust him because he will be her rock. When Laurel travels back to her parents property up for it's sale. Then in comes Tamani and I swoon. He is beautiful, eccentric and makes Laurel feel and see things she never imagined.

Aprilynne gave the perfect amount of world building and then diving in and speeding it up all at the right moments. A war between fairy and trolls is brewing and I can not wait to find out what happens in the next book. Tamani is now on my list of book boyfriends. When I say Wings was organic I am not lying I felt like Aprilynne took fairies to a different place then I have read before. All are organic and one with the earth. I am giving this book 4 out of 5 stars.

Fairy Month Throwback Thursday with Unhinged by A. G. Howard ~ Review by Fallon

5 Out of 5 Stars

Fallon's Review:

Alyssa is fighting her Wonderland urges now that she is back home. With Jeb she wants to deny that side of her but the when she is around Morpheus the Wonderland starts eating away wanting to break free. Jeb is off starting his life as a painter and Alyssa feels like she is still stuck. Weird things keep happening and Alyssa soon realizes Wonderland might not be so easy to leave behind. Morpheus takes the form of a foreign student. Of course Morpheus is attracting all the girls. Then there is a creepy clown who keeps popping up tormenting Alyssa.

Now this is how I felt about the book. I had been so fortunate to have received and ARC of this book. Splintered was so awesome and Unique and A.G. Howard did not disappoint with this book. I am so obsessed with this book. Morpheus is yummy, Alyssa is the girl you wish you were, and i like Jeb a little more with each book. A. G. Howard had me glued from the very beginning. This book was even more twisted and darker then Splintered. My favorite part has to be the last chapter. I can not get enough. I keep reading it over and over again. Yes it is just that good. If you love the first you will be even more in love with Unhinged. I cant brag about this book enough. A. G. Howard is such a great writer with an incredible imagination. Morpheus is even more wonderfully appealing in this book. This is a 5 star must read.

#Giveaway ~ Celebrating our 6 Month Blogaversary with Veronica Rossi

Seeing Double In Neverland 6 Month Blogaversary

6 Months ago we posted our first review Into The Still Blue by Veronica Rossi

I was so fortunate to 6 months later attend Veronica Rossi's Launch under her pen name release with Lorin Oberweger. I attended the Boomerang Launch by Noelle August

These two Authors were Hilarious and adorable. They compared there new NA book Boomerang to the Hangover and I was like I am so in. They each read a chapter of the Dating scene Rossi who wrote Ethan and Oberweger who wrote Mia. They had everyone in the room laughing. We got to ask questions and found out this is a 3 book deal and there is talk of interest for film rights. (knock on wood) You could tell these two Authors worked so well together and had no problem with communication in there writing relationship. They both had loved the cover and did get some say in it. When I asked about did they always want to be a writer. Veronica expressed how she had been into the arts but found herself writing poetry that eventually turned into her love of writing. Lorin had written a poem in grade school and had a teacher encourage her and has been doing it and editing ever since.

I got to hang out with and make friends with a group of bloggers from Miami

Veronica AKA (August), Fallon and Lorin AKA (Noelle)

I had the best time attending the after party courtesy of the Authors. They were so awesome and went above and beyond to make everyone so comfortable. I wish I had a picture of My Henna Tattoo I got of a storm in honor of Veronica. She took a picture on her phone because my camera died. I will post it if I get it soon. I loved talking books with Veronica and Lorin both love a strong female and one that has supportive people in there lives. They said they hate it when a lead character surrounds themselves with friends who treat them horrible. "Who would do that in real life"

So to thank our followers we are having a fun Giveaway 1 Winner will get a copy of Under The Never Sky signed plus tattoos by Veronica Rossi and as well as Boomerang signed by Noelle August
