Heir of Fire (Throne of Glass # 3) by Sarah J. Maas ~ Review by Fallon
5 Out of 5 Stars
Celaena has survived deadly contests and shattering heartbreak—but at an unspeakable cost. Now, she must travel to a new land to confront her darkest truth . . . a truth about her heritage that could change her life—and her future—forever. Meanwhile, brutal and monstrous forces are gathering on the horizon, intent on enslaving her world. Will Celaena find the strength to not only fight her inner demons, but to take on the evil that is about to be unleashed?
The bestselling series that has captured readers all over the world reaches new heights in this sequel to the New York Times best-selling Crown of Midnight. Packed with heart-pounding action, fierce new characters, and swoon-worthy romance, this third book will enthrall readers from start to finish.
This was by far hands down my favorite in the series. Celaena has left everything behind to find her relatives that belong to her fey side. Celaena will be pushed to the extreme by her new trainer Rowan who is determined to break her and make her stronger for the war ahead. Celaena can not control the fire that burns inside of her and until she can learn to control it she is a danger to herself and those around her.
Manon is a fierce and partially mad warrior of the Blackbeak tribe. This was a great addition to the story. She was raised to not have emotion and to be a brutal killer. She forms an attachment to a wyvern that is not an obvious choice. She also soon discovers maybe this brutality is not in her blood but in the way she has been raised.
Chaol is now promised to return home to his families land. He is trying to uncover what he can behind the kings agenda before he leaves. He soon finds himself in a very dangerous game.
Sarah J. Maas did not disappoint and far exceeded my expectations. Rowan and Manon were additions to the story that you did not know was missing. Celaena has had many love interests through out the series and I thought I had an opinion but Sarah knows her characters so well that whatever journey they take you want to take with them. This is a must read fantasy novel. I am giving Heir of Fire 5 Out of 5 Stars.
