Wicked Lovely (Wicked Lovely #1) by Melissa Marr ~ Review by Fallon
Hardcover, 1st Edition, 328 pages

Rule #3: Don't stare at invisible faeries.
Aislinn has always seen faeries. Powerful and dangerous, they walk hidden in the mortal world. Aislinn fears their cruelty - especially if they learn of her Sight - and wishes she were as blind to their presence as other teens.
Rule #2: Don't speak to invisible faeries.
Now faeries are stalking her. One of them, Keenan, who is equal parts terrifying and alluring, is trying to talk to her, asking questions Aislinn is afraid to answer.
Rule #1: Don't ever attract their attention.
But it's too late. Keenan is the Summer King, who has sought his queen for nine centuries. Without her, summer itself will perish. He is determined that Aislinn will become the Summer Queen at any cost — regardless of her plans or desires.
Suddenly none of the rules that have kept Aislinn safe are working anymore, and everything is on the line: her freedom; her best friend, Seth; her life; everything.
Faery intrigue, mortal love, and the clash of ancient rules and modern expectations swirl together in Melissa Marr's stunning twenty-first-century faery tale.
Aislinn can see the faeries but she pretends she can not. Her grandmother has taught her how to avoid there notice. That is until now. She notices a very good looking Fairy with golden hair keeps staring at her.
The Summer King has Aislinn in his sites and she just may be the one to break the curse and return his kingdom to him. He soon starts showing up everywhere Aislinn is and this starts to freak her out. Keenan even enrolls in her school.
Seth is the super hot tattooed friend who has always had a little bit of a promiscuous side. This side of Seth has always kept Aislinn at arms length. She has had a crush on him for sometime but she does not want to ruin there friendship and become a passing phase. Seth however is determined to show Aislinn that he wants to be committed to her.
I have wanted to read this series for awhile and own all the books. I finally got to and this book was even better then I anticipated. Melissa Marr's writing is enchanting and raw. The grit in this world was the perfect balance of originality. I am a huge Seth fan. I am giving Wickedly Lovely 5 Out of Stars and bring on book 2!
