Dragons Are People, Too
by Sarah Nicolas
Release Date: 04/28/15
Entangled Teen

4 Out of 5 Stars

Summary from Goodreads:
Never judge a dragon by her human cover...

Sixteen-year-old Kitty Lung has everyone convinced she’s a normal teen—not a secret government operative, not the one charged with protecting the president’s son, and certainly not a were-dragon. The only one she trusts with the truth is her best friend—and secret crush—the ├╝ber-hot Bulisani Mathe.

Then a junior operative breaks Rule Number One by changing into his dragon form in public—on Kitty’s watch—and suddenly, the world knows. About dragons. About the Draconic Intelligence Command (DIC) Kitty works for. About Kitty herself.

Now the government is hunting down and incarcerating dragons to stop a public panic, and a new shape-shifting enemy has kidnapped the president’s son. Kitty and Bulisani are the last free dragons, wanted by both their allies and their enemies. If they can’t rescue the president’s son and liberate their fellow dragons before getting caught themselves, dragons might never live free again.

Fallon's Review:

Sarah has created a world where Dragon as you imagined them are just the beginning. The ones always portrayed in the movies are the American Dragons. Kitty however is not like the American Dragon's she is more serpent like and does not have wings. She flies by a magnetic pulse. She also has the ability to become invisible when in her dragon form. She is one of the operatives at the DIC. She finds herself up a creak when her operative Wallace is caught on camera in his Dragon form.

Sani is Kitty's best friend and also her partner in protecting the presidents son Jacob. They pose as students in his school. Things get out of control when a gorgeous new girl comes into the picture named Gesina she has a German accent and appears flawless. Kitty and Sani become concerned with her interest in Jacob. Jacob invites Gesina back to his place and soon things are spiraling out of
control. Gesina is not all she appears to be. She kidnaps Jacob and is actually a Kitsune, a shape shifter who can alter perception.

Sarah created a fun fantasy story. I loved the mix of cultures that were drawn on. Kitty is feisty and strong but has a soft spot for the people she loves. Wallace was one of my favorite supporting characters. I had wanted to read this for awhile and was so glad I did. I did not get the Rocky referals though. They seemed a little cheesy and forced. I however did love the concept and diversity that Sarah had in characters and I can not wait to read book 2. I am giving Dragons Are People, Too 4 out of 5 Stars.
