Goodreads Description:

One girl. One chance. One destiny.

In the village of Martindale, hundreds of miles north of the new English capital of Windsor, sixteen-year-old Silver Blackthorne takes the Reckoning. This coming-of- age test not only decides her place in society – Elite, Member, Inter or Trog – but also determines that Silver is to become an Offering for King Victor. But these are uncertain times and no one really knows what happens to the teenagers who disappear into Windsor Castle. Is being an Offering the privilege everyone assumes it to be, or do the walls of the castle have something to hide? Trapped in a maze of ancient corridors, Silver finds herself in a warped world of suspicion where it is difficult to know who to trust and who to fear. The one thing Silver does know is that she must find a way out . . . The heart-stopping first book in a new trilogy by UK author Kerry Wilkinson, Reckoning is the story of one girl's determination to escape the whims of a cruel king, and what she must do to survive against all odds.

Fallon's Review:

What a great portrayal of a dystopian world. I have not hated a king so much since Joffrey from Game of Thrones. King Victor is a drunk and a loose canon. Never knowing who could be collateral damage. I loved to hate him so much.

Silver is named for her streak in her hair. She is such a defiant fierce character. She is smart and resourceful. The Reckoning and testing involved was truly unique and fascinating. After the Reckoning Silver is chosen as an Offering to the King and does not know if she will ever see her friends and family again.

Things soon take a crazy turn and nothing they thought they knew of the Reckoning and becoming an Offering seems to be true. The castle has very few previous Offerings and they soon discover it is either due to King Victor's temper or he sells them to other countries. How does one survive if they do not know what they are fighting?

Kerry Wilkinson keeps you on your toes and builds characters that stay with you even after the pages turn. This dystopian is unlike any I have read before and kept me intrigued throughout. This is a page turner must read! I love this book and could read it over and over again.

Silver Blackthorn has committed treason.
She is dangerous. Do NOT approach her.
A large reward is on offer. Report any sightings to your nearest Kingsman.
Long live the King.

Silver Blackthorn is on the run. She fled Windsor Castle with eleven other teenagers, taking with her something far more valuable than even she realises: knowledge.

With the entire country searching for the missing Offerings, Silver must keep them all from the vicious clutches of King Victor and the Minister Prime. Until now, no one has escaped the king and lived to tell the tale.

Or have they?

With expectations weighing heavily on the girl with the silver streak in her hair, will she ever find her way home?

Fallon's Review:

Thank you to Kerry Wilkinson for arranging for the publisher to send me a ARC. This in no way affects my opinion in my review.

Book 2 Renegade offered a new adventure one of complete survival. They are no longer in the castle facing the threat of King Victor but they are on the run and hiding. They must find the rebel groups if they hope to bring down the current people in power of their Kingdom.

Silver is torn she never thought she would have to return and if she does return home how will her best friend and maybe more Opie take to her new love interest Imrin. Kerry Wilkinson does this love triangle in the right way. Sometimes life does take us on a path and sometimes we do not know other paths will collide. Silver thought the day she left for the Reckoning that she would never see Opie again. She found comfort in Imrin. That does not mean these two boys will let Silver just play games and lead them on.

Renegade was a non-stop adventure. Their were definite moments of tears that tore at your heart strings. I am so excited for Resurgence  next year. The only thing I missed in Renegade was King Victor just because I loved to hate him so much. This however did have completely different appeal which was refreshing, I loved this book and am highly recommending it!
