A modern cupid story set in present-day Wisconsin combining the fantastical elements of Greek mythology with the contemporary drama of MTV's Teen Mom.People don’t understand love. If they did, they’d get why dance prodigy Karma Clark just can’t say goodbye to her boyfriend, Danny. No matter what he says or does or how he hurts her, she can’t stay angry with him . . . and can’t stop loving him. But there’s a reason why Karma is helpless to break things off: she’s been shot with a love arrow.
Aaryn, son of Cupid, was supposed to shoot both Karma
andDanny but found out too late that the other arrow in his pack was useless. And with that, Karma’s life changed forever. One pregnancy confirmed. One ballet scholarship lost. And dream after dream tossed to the wind.

A clueless Karma doesn’t know that her toxic relationship is Aaryn’s fault . . . but he’s going to get a chance to make things right. He’s here to convince Danny to man up and be there for Karma. But what if this god from Mount Olympus finds himself falling in love with a beautiful dancer from Wisconsin who can never love him in return?

This fast-paced debut novel explores the internal & external conflicts of a girl who finds herself inexplicably drawn to a boy who seemingly doesn't reciprocate her  feelings, touching on the issues of love, sex and responsibility, with a heroine struggling to control her destiny--perfect for fans of Katie McGarry's novels and MTV’s 16 and Pregnant.

Thank you Random House for sending me a copy of Arrows for review. This in no way affected my opinion.

From the moment I read the description of Arrows I was intrigued. I am not a huge contemporary fan but was drawn to this because of the mythological twist. Arrows did not disappoint. I flew through the pages and could not put it down.

This was a fun and flirty read. I would say this is the perfect chick flick in book form. Aaryn is swoon worthy and Danny is the boy you love to hate. Karma is the girl you route for all the way up to the end. If you are looking for a fun and light heart-ed read then this is a must to add to your shelf.

Character Interview with Aaryn and Karma

 1) Aaryn how frustrating is it to be stuck in a mortal body?

“So look, when I first landed on Earth, all I could think about was getting home. Getting back to normal, you know? But then I met Karma and experienced a connection with someone who had a good heart. She made me laugh. She’s a genuinely good person. I can’t say I experienced that very often in Olympus.”

2) Karma what quality can you actually say you love about Danny?

“He doesn’t take life too seriously, though it’s often to a fault.”

3) Aaryn do you think love is eternal?

“Right away in the beginning of the book—chapter three, I think—I talk about how an arrow’s forever. They were designed to make people fall in love. A spell that can’t be broken. So yeah, even back then, I thought love was forever. I still believe that.”

4) Karma what is your favorite quality about Aaryn?
“He’s really cares about people. If he makes a mistake, he wants to fix it. I like a guy who has a conscience.”

5) Aaryn now that you have seen Dirty Dancing what do you really think of the movie?

*sidelong glance at Karma* “No comment.”

6) Karma if you could go back in time what is the one thing you would change about your life?

“Wow, that’s a good question. I mean obviously, I wouldn’t be all like yeah, go get knocked-up as a teenager, because that caused a lot of stress for a lot of people—but I can’t say I’d change having Nell, either. She’s one of the best things that ever happened to me. If it weren’t for her, I never would have known that Danny—

Well, you’ll have to read the book to find out.”

  1. I wonder how will Aaryn convince Danny to man up and if it really is possible!

  2. I love Aaryn's reason for enjoying his time as a mortal, that it's because Karma is such a good person. And I also love Karma's reason for liking Aaryn, because he's kind and has a conscience. It's so rare to see people talk about emotional qualities and not their looks - it's awesome!

I have a US address but rafflecopter might show my location outside the US because I'm doing a semester abroad.

thank you so very much! lovely review and interview! :)
