Seventeen years ago, an eclipse cloaked the kingdom of Relhok in perpetual darkness. In the chaos, an evil chancellor murdered the king and queen and seized their throne. Luna, Relhok’s lost princess, has been hiding in a tower ever since. Luna’s survival depends on the world believing she is dead.
But that doesn’t stop Luna from wanting more. When she meets Fowler, a mysterious archer braving the woods outside her tower, Luna is drawn to him despite the risk. When the tower is attacked, Luna and Fowler escape together. But this world of darkness is more treacherous than Luna ever realized.
With every threat stacked against them, Luna and Fowler find solace in each other. But with secrets still unspoken between them, falling in love might be their most dangerous journey yet.
With lush writing and a star–crossed romance, Reign of Shadows is Sophie Jordan at her best.
Thank you Sophie Jordan for providing me an ARC of Reign of Shadows. This in no way affected my opinion.
When Sophie told me about her new book I was so excited. I did think it might be a little graphic with violence for my taste but absolutely was not. This book was intense but fun, unique and amazing. I grabbed this up and did not put it down till the last page. This world has been effected by the eclipse that came and has stayed since. The world maybe dark but Sophie gave us vivid detail into the world. I did have a clue as to what the twist would be and saw it coming but that did not make me love following the journey any less.
Reign of Shadows is in two rotating POV's one from Fowler the independent and stubborn survivor that Luna stumbles upon in the woods. Luna a princess hidden away in a tower to keep her safe from the things that lurk outside the wall and the survivors who would hunt her down.
A story of a princess left in a tower taking up that many pages would be know fun so Luna is forced to flee when the hidden tower is discovered. That is where everything goes from hard to even harder. Fowler and her are on a quest to find a place that is safe.
Luna is such a fierce character who may have flaws but she sure knows how to compensate for them. This girl is balls to the wall brave. She has never seen the world she enters into yet she takes it on without any restraint. Fowler compliments Luna's personality and pushes her where most would not.
Reign of shadows was a fast paced dark adventure that leaves you wanting more. This book will stay on my forever shelf. This is a book I could re-read over and over again and it will always be just as amazing as the first time. I love Sophie's writing and she raised the bar in Reign of Shadows. This is a must read!
