Synopsis:

I’ve become an expert at avoiding things that could hurt me—which means I will figure out how to stay away from Marco Leone.

Seventeen-year-old Frankie Devereux would do anything to forget the past. Haunted by the memory of her boyfriend’s death, she lives her life by one dangerous rule: Nothing matters. At least, that’s what Frankie tells herself after a reckless mistake forces her to leave her privileged life in the Heights to move in with her dad—an undercover cop. She transfers to a public high school in the Downs, where fistfights don’t faze anyone and illegal street racing is more popular than football.

Marco Leone is the fastest street racer in the Downs. Tough, sexy, and hypnotic, he makes it impossible for Frankie to ignore him—and how he makes her feel. But the risks Marco takes for his family could have devastating consequences for them both. When Frankie discovers his secret, she has to make a choice. Will she let the pain of the past determine her future? Or will she risk what little she has left to follow her heart?

Review:

Thank you Fierce Reads for providing me with a copy of The Lovely Reckless for reaview. This in no way affected my opinion.

I heard all my friends buzzing about The Lovely Reckless so I was excited when I came to it on my TBR. I was also a little nervous cause sometimes when you hear so much hype it does not live up to the hype. Well Kami shattered all expectations I mean she destroyed them. This book was so addicting in all the right ways. The dialog was on point. The swoon was so hot it would make you blush without having to be too sexual and that kept it age appropriate to where I would recommend it for any teen.

Frankie is broken and suffers from PTSD after witnessing her rich boyfriend being murdered in front of her. She has not been coping well and finds herseelf in trouble and having to leave her former life behind. Frankie even though broken was the kind of character you route for and want to see things turn out right. I like the fact she starts to stand up for herself instead of letting people pull her strings.

Bad boy Marco has lived on the wrong side of the tracks all his life. Sometimes a bad reputation can keep you alive. This bad boy has a soft spot for the new girl Frankie. She soon starts to see that the tough guy routine might be a facade.

This book has it all. Fast cars and hot guys had me staying up till 4:00 am to finish the last page. I could not put it down. The Lovely Reckless is a must read!
