A teenage assassin kills with a single kiss until she is ordered to kill the one boy she loves. This commercial YA fantasy is romantic and addictive—like a poison kiss—and will thrill fans of Sarah J. Maas and Victoria Aveyard.

Marinda has kissed dozens of boys. They all die afterward. It's a miserable life, but being a visha kanya—a poison maiden—is what she was created to do. Marinda serves the Raja by dispatching his enemies with only her lips as a weapon.

Until now, the men she was ordered to kiss have been strangers, enemies of the kingdom. Then she receives orders to kiss Deven, a boy she knows too well to be convinced he needs to die. She begins to question who she's really working for. And that is a thread that, once pulled, will unravel more than she can afford to lose.

This rich, surprising, and accessible debut is based in Indian folklore and delivers a story that will keep readers on the edge of their seats.

Thank you Random House for sending me a copy of Poison's Kiss for review. This in no way affected my opinion.

I do not love snakes but they have always intrigued me and made me curious and you will find you feel the same way while reading Poison's Kiss. The curiosity and beauty that makes Marinda who she is pulls you in and keeps you turning the page. There are many heart wrenching moments that capture you in to the life that Marinda has had to live at such a young age. So many of us take for granted the privilege of the lives we live. Marinda does not have the luxury of choice and with every choice she is able to make comes dire consequences.

Poison's Kiss was such a fast paced read and I was completely taken with this book. I was in a book pit until I picked up this book and flew through the pages. You will be routing for Miranda and her little brother. I am so happy there will be more. The book did not leaved with a cliffhanger but there were some loose ends that can now be explored and closed.

I am recommending this book. It is definitely a book you will want to add your collection. Like a different flavor that you never knew you were missing. This is a book to be added to the palate.

  1. Ooh nice! I was starting to get curious about this one. Despite my nerve wracking fear of snakes! I still cringe at moments in Harry Potter! LOL! But glad to hear that this one was enjoyable! Nice review!
